Carol June King is a beloved member of the Celina community who has spent her life devoted to family, faith, education, and the arts. Born and raised in Celina, Texas, Carol’s roots run deep in the town she has always called home. Her story is one of love, dedication, and a profound commitment to her passions.
Carol married her high school sweetheart, Bob King, and they built a life of love and service together. The couple farmed in Celina while raising their four children, creating a legacy of hard work, strong values, and family devotion. Married for nearly 56 years before Bob’s passing in 2012, they were a shining example of enduring partnership. Their family has grown to include 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, carrying forward the values they instilled.
A Lifelong Dedication to Education and Music
Carol graduated from Celina High School in 1957 and later pursued her passion for music, earning a degree in Music Education from Texas Woman’s University in 1975. Her love for music drove her to further her education, and in 1983, she achieved a Master’s in Voice from TWU.
For many years, Carol shared her talents as a music educator in McKinney and Celina schools, inspiring countless students with her enthusiasm and dedication to the arts. A gifted pianist, organist, and singer, she brought joy to the congregation at First Baptist Church, where she served faithfully as a musician and choir member.
Carol’s faith has guided her throughout her life. She has devoted countless hours to teaching Sunday school and leading Bible studies, sharing her wisdom and love of scripture with others. Her church and community contributions reflect her deep spiritual commitment and desire to uplift those around her.
In addition to her musical talents, Carol has a flair for creative pursuits. She enjoys embroidery and rug hooking, which showcase her patience and artistic eye. These activities are another way Carol expresses her love of beauty and craftsmanship.
