Each month, we take the opportunity to spotlight one of our incredible care partners who goes above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of our community members. This month, we are proud to recognize Sydney Dansby as our ConTRIBUTEr of the Month!
Growing Up in Celina
Sydney has deep roots in the Dallas area and moved to Celina when she was about 10 years old with her mom and step-dad. Since then, she’s considered Celina home and has built a life surrounded by family, friends, and a strong community. Her journey is a reminder of the power of family bonds and how important they are in shaping who we become.
A Family That Means Everything
Family is the center of Sydney’s world. She has four siblings—two sisters (ages 11 and 21) and two brothers (ages 14 and 16). “My siblings are my best friends,” Sydney shared. Her relationship with her step-dad is also a special part of her story. He came into her life when she was just nine years old and officially adopted her at 18. Today, she proudly calls him “Dad.” Sydney also credits her mom as one of the brightest lights in her life, someone truly one-of-a-kind. It’s clear that Sydney’s love for family shines through in everything she does, both at home and at Tribute.
Beyond Work: Running, Food, and Fun
When she’s not caring for our community members, Sydney loves spending time with her friends and family—especially going to the movies and enjoying great food together. One of her favorite meals? Stir fry!
Sydney is also an avid runner and has participated in several races. Her longest distance so far is an impressive 10 miles. She even volunteers with Run Celina, helping to operate the timing equipment for their races. Her dedication to staying active and supporting her community is just one of the many things that make her stand out.
Travel is another passion for Sydney. She has already had the opportunity to explore Spain and Italy, both of which she thoroughly enjoyed. Next on her list? The Netherlands—or perhaps another country in Europe. She loves the chance to experience new cultures and broaden her perspective.
Making a Difference at Tribute
Sydney has been a care partner at Tribute for a year, and in that time, she has made a lasting impact on both her team and the community members she serves. When asked about her favorite part of her job, her answer was simple yet powerful: “Being able to get to know each resident well and hearing their stories. The best part of my day is when I make someone smile.”
Her compassion, warmth, and ability to connect with community members on a personal level truly embody the values of Tribute Senior Living. Every day, Sydney shows up ready to listen, care, and brighten someone’s day—qualities that make her such an essential part of our community.
