M: Mediterranean

The Mediterranean diet is inspired by the eating habits of Greece, Southern Italy, and Spain. The principal aspects of this diet include proportionally high consumption of olive oil, legumes, unrefined cereals, and fruits and vegetables, moderate to high consumption of fish, moderate consumption of dairy products, moderate consumption of wine, and low consumption of non-fish meat products.

A: Artisan

Artisan is a term used to describe food produced through non-industrialized methods, often handed down through generations. It is focused on providing farm-to-table food with locally sourced products. Artisanal food encompasses breads, cheeses, fruit preserves, cured meats, beverages, oils, and vinegars that are made by hand using traditional methods.

R: Regional

When we buy directly from the farm or from nearby farmers’ markets, we receive higher-quality food with a lower environmental impact. Local food has a higher nutritional value, supports the local economy, is full of flavor, and is usually humanely grown or raised.

K: Keto

The Keto diet has gotten a lot of attention lately, primarily as a weight loss tool. What is lesser known is potentially significant benefits in boosting performance in our brains. Our Medical Director is a big proponent of The Keto diet for anyone having memory issues as it has shown promising results in early clinical testing. It also has been shown to greatly reduce inflammation which can reduce chronic pain. The challenge with the Keto diet is in the preparation – so the beauty of Tribute Senior Living is that we do all of the hard work for you!

V: Vegetarian

A well-planned vegetarian diet is a healthy way to meet nutritional needs and help reduce the risk for many chronic illnesses. Vegetarian diets may vary from one person to the next, but typically they will consist of fruits, vegetables, dried beans and peas, grains, seeds, and nuts. Tribute offers multiple options for those who choose a vegetarian lifestyle, as the majority of our menu is comprised of delicious, fresh vegetable options.
