Maria Beck, A Life Rich in Family and Service
This spotlight honors Maria Beck, born on April 21, 1936, in Schweinheim, Germany. Her incredible journey, filled with grace, strength, and joy, brought her from a small German village to a loving family life in America. At just 21, Maria bravely left her homeland to marry her beloved husband, Oscar, a U.S. Army GI. Together, they built a beautiful life, sharing 62 cherished years of marriage before Oscar’s passing.
Maria is a devoted mother to Anni (married to Mark Jezek) and Eddie (married to Karen Beck), a proud grandmother to Nathan Beck, Ryan Cooper, Nick Cooper, Drew (with wife Ash), and Josh (with wife Kat), and a joyful great-grandmother to three little ones, with one more on the way in September.
For over four decades, Maria ran a home day care center, where she cared for and nurtured countless children, many of whom still remember her with love. Her home was always a place of comfort, laughter, and of course—amazing German food, which remains one of her favorite things to cook and enjoy.
Maria is a woman of many talents. She loves sewing, crocheting, gardening, and has a tender heart for bird watching. In her youth, she could light up any room with her presence—especially on the dance floor, where her energy and joy were simply unforgettable.
Maria Beck’s life is a beautiful tapestry woven with love, family, and service to others. She is a treasure to all who know her.
With love and admiration, we celebrate Maria and her remarkable life.
