Meet Latricia Prater, Our Activities and Fitness Coordinator
What truly makes a senior living community feel like home? It isn’t just the beautiful surroundings or the comfortable amenities. It is the people. It is the dedicated individuals who greet community members with a smile every morning, who bring energy into every room, and who genuinely care about the well-being of everyone they meet.
At Tribute Senior Living, we are incredibly proud of our team, and today we are excited to introduce you to someone who is already making a wonderful impact. Meet Latricia Prater, our Activities and Fitness Coordinator.
A Proven Passion for Wellness
Though Latricia joined the Tribute family just four months ago, she has already become a standout member of our community. Her compassion and empathy toward our community members shine through in everything she does. Latricia brings a wealth of experience to her role, having previously spent five years as a recreation leader at The Little Elm Senior Rec Center. There, she specialized in facilitating chair exercises, leading both beginner and advanced tai-chi classes, and organizing vibrant community activities.
Today, Tribute community members get to experience her expertise firsthand. Every morning starts with her peaceful tai-chi sessions, followed by creative arts and crafts projects later in the day. Latricia is also always ready to pitch in wherever she is needed, ensuring that our community remains a vibrant, active, and supportive place to live.
For Latricia, this work is much more than a checklist of daily events. It is a true calling.
“My favorite part of the job is finding ways to brighten people’s day,” Latricia shares. “I love helping community members stay fit, healthy, and happy.”
Roots, Romance, and Family
Latricia’s journey to Tribute is rooted right here in Texas. She grew up in Irving and has called Little Elm home for the past 21 years, drawn to the area by its family-friendly activities and beautiful lake trails.
Her personal life is filled with just as much love and dedication as her professional career. Latricia married her high school sweetheart. In a wonderfully nostalgic twist, they both played the clarinet in their high school marching band. Together, they have built a beautiful life that now includes four children and three grandchildren.
An ideal weekend for Latricia is all about balance. It centers around rest, faith, creativity, and quality family time, always beginning with sleeping in and a comforting cup of coffee. When it comes to family dinners, her favorite meal is a juicy t-bone steak cooked medium-well on the home grill, with smoked brisket coming in as a close second.
Belly Dancing and Big Dreams
If you ask Latricia for a fun fact about herself, she might surprise you. She absolutely loves belly dancing. She describes it as a challenging workout that shapes the body, but emphasizes that it is mostly just a lot of fun.
That same sense of adventure extends to her travel goals. Latricia dreams of visiting Israel and Jerusalem one day. Her goal is to experience the birthplace of Christianity alongside a large, diverse group of people from all around the world.
At Tribute Senior Living, we believe that exceptional care begins with exceptional people. Latricia’s blend of professional expertise, joyful spirit, and deep empathy is a perfect reflection of our commitment to our community members. We are so grateful to have her leading our fitness and activities programs, bringing smiles and health to our community every single day.
If you see Latricia around the community leading a tai-chi class or prepping an art project, be sure to say hello. She is always ready to brighten your day.
