Nutrition in the Golden Age of Life

Culinary Director Dennis Briggs chopping vegetables in the Tribute kitchen.
I have spent nearly 20 years in the senior living industry and have seen firsthand how important nutrition is to our golden age residents. The unfortunate onset of the Coronavirus pandemic has certainly taken us all by surprise. Despite the disruption that COVID-19 brought to our daily lives, our commitment to provide healthy and nutritious meals that promote life, health, and well-being, has never been stronger.
We are continually researching ways to promote dining services as a healthy intervention that benefits the cognitive health and abilities of our residents. We are currently researching various spices and supplements that will be incorporated into our program that promotes brain health and reduces inflammation. One such supplement that we are looking to add is Turmeric.
As a result of our research, I have created a Smoothie Program where we serve healthy smoothies to our residents that contain many anti-inflammatory ingredients. The response has been overwhelmingly positive and our residents love their nutritious, hydrating smoothies!
Living in a memory care facility doesn’t have to be bland or boring. Our culinary services team is here to add spice to the lives of all our residents with delicious and nutrient-dense meals. It’s just one of the many ways we are transforming lives at Tribute!
