A Word From Charles Hodges: Betterment
The holidays bring colorful décor, warm fireplace activation, and a festive close to the year at Tribute. For the leadership team at Tribute, we begin to focus on betterment of our interventions, socialization activities and betterment of our Team.
Nutritional betterment is a constant focus of our culinary leadership. New supercharged smoothie recipes, and a greater move to eliminate processed foods are just two of our betterment programs. In Nursing, improvements to our understanding of new medicines to slow the progression of dementia is top of mind for me. The side effects seem to be dangerous, but more trials are needed.
Betterment of our brain training protocols is another focus for the coming year. Like homework, it’s not always fun, but is a necessary endeavor to keep the brain circuits sharp and firing. In my family, my mom’s Mild Cognitive Impairment led to daily ventures into the New York Times Crossword. It was good for both of us and sparked precious socialization between mother & son. Therapy is where you find it!
Our fitness regimen can always be improved. Our classes each day are well attended but I’m always wanting our team to create more outdoor activities. Sunshine is healing.
Now that I have choked myself up, bringing back all those memories of my parents’ struggle against dementia, I’ll close by making a holiday promise…Betterment every year is always a focus at Tribute Senior Living… and always will be.
Happy Holidays,
Charles
