Residents Get Creative at Tribute’s Monthly Art Studio

There is something special about sitting down with a few supplies, a little inspiration, and the freedom to create something of your own. Tribute Senior Living’s monthly Art Studio gives residents that opportunity while also bringing everyone together for an activity that is relaxed, social, and fun.
Once a month, Alycia, owner of A Joyful Mess Art Studio, visits Tribute with a new project for residents to enjoy. Each session is different, giving residents the chance to try something new and leave with a finished piece they can be proud of.
For this month’s project, residents created fall-themed door hangers to display on their own doors. Using seasonal patterns, warm colors, and decorative details, each resident added their own touch to the project.
Resident Betty Crenshaw was especially happy with the finished result.
“I absolutely love the fall door hanger,” Betty shared.
The afternoon photos captured plenty of creativity in progress, along with the smiles that came with seeing each project come together.
Art Everyone Can Enjoy
One of the things that makes the monthly Art Studio so meaningful is that the projects are designed to be approachable for residents with different abilities and experience levels.
Latricia, one of our Life Enrichment Coordinators, says this is one of the reasons she looks forward to Alycia’s monthly visits. She loves that Alycia always picks projects every resident can take part in and enjoy.
Meaningful engagement at Tribute is about more than simply filling the calendar. Our programs are designed to help residents connect with activities and with the people around them, while creating opportunities to explore interests and enjoy new experiences.
This month’s Art Studio brought all of that together through a simple fall project that residents could make their own. The finished door hangers now add a little seasonal personality throughout the community, but the best part was the time spent creating them together.
We’re already looking forward to seeing what Alycia brings for next month’s project.
